Stiles calls out Ford’s Minister for living the suite life on taxpayer dime

QUEEN’S PARK — Marit Stiles, Leader of the Official Opposition Ontario NDP, blasted Doug Ford’s Minister of Tourism, Stan Cho, for racking up over $16,000 in taxpayer-funded hotel expenses in Toronto, despite living in the city:

“Stan Cho said in 2018 that the party with the taxpayers’ money was over,” said Stiles. “It turns out he just moved the party to a five-star hotel in Toronto.

“The Minister can get from Willowdale to Queen's Park without even having to change subway lines. He has a taxpayer-funded car and driver. There's no reason he would need $16,000 worth of luxury downtown hotel stays.

“This is a blatant abuse of taxpayer dollars. The people of Ontario are breaking their backs to buy groceries, meanwhile Minister Cho is living the suite life on their dime.

“Minister Cho has betrayed the trust of Ontarians by lighting their money on fire to live like a rockstar. Doug Ford needs to answer for this and make sure that the Minister pays back every cent, and that his government starts showing some respect for hard-working taxpayers.”
